In partnership with the footwear designer, I helped drive the product narrative and graphic direction. From a traction pattern based off of his signature logo I designed, to additional patterns that were quilted, woven and molded into the product to speak to his heritage.

Inspired by the classic Greek Hero’s journey, and taking it to new dimensions (literally). Giannis’s journey now transcends any other NBA player. He has moved beyond other players on multiple levels, hence the word META, which is the Greek word for beyond or transcend. This is visualized through wormhole like effects, grid perspectives and repeating shapes to show dimensionality.

Additionally, layering his personal attributes such as clash of patterns from his Greek + Nigerian roots, as seen in the traction pattern that was inspired by the cyclical symbolism of Greek key (labyrinth). Finished off with quilting in the toe box as a nod to his love of soccer.
